Spark Spotlight: Jackie (JSTETSER)

By , SparkPeople Blogger
At SparkPeople, we love helping people accomplish big goals—but we believe it's equally important to celebrate the small successes along the way. Each week in the Spark Spotlight, we'll check in with a featured member about his or her proudest moments, biggest challenges and advice for others on living, thinking and feeling healthier. We hope these quick snapshots will help motivate you to keep moving steadily toward your own goals, week by week.

Jackie's Small Success of the Week

What's your overall goal?

My overall goal is to keep Type 2 diabetes under control. Mainly, I am able to keep my blood sugar numbers low with food and exercise. Recently, I had to add Metformin. This doesn't slow me down.

How is SparkPeople helping you get there?

Every morning, I take the time to enter my food and exercise. I also come back to the site during the day to enter more food and exercise.

What's your biggest challenge right now?

In late February, I'm going to visit my son and his family in Florida. My son has been able to do 100 push ups in the past. I want to challenge him to a push up challenge. He will have his one-year-old daughter on his back just to make it interesting! I've also used the challenges to work on my push ups. It is becoming both a family and school challenge. I love including others in my goals.

What advice do you have for someone who just joined SparkPeople today?

Work the program because the program works! I love SparkPeople and am thrilled with the results.
