Spark Spotlight: Becca (BECCALOU09)

By , SparkPeople Blogger
At SparkPeople, we love helping people accomplish big goals—but we believe it's equally important to celebrate the small successes along the way. Each week in the Spark Spotlight, we'll check in with a featured member about his or her proudest moments, biggest challenges and advice for others on living, thinking and feeling healthier. We hope these quick snapshots will help motivate you to keep moving steadily toward your own goals, week by week.

This Week's Spotlight: Becca (BECCALOU09)
Age: 26
Location: United Kingdom

Small Success of the Week

Becca recently shared in the Community Goal Feed that she was able to hold a pike for three minutes, which is a full minute longer than her first try.

What's your overall goal?

I am focusing on building up [muscle] so there's definition. I also want to try to do what I couldn't do when I had heart disease and asthma.

How is SparkPeople helping you get there?

SparkPeople is keeping me on track with everything I do, including what I eat and drink, as well as exercise. Before joining SparkPeople, I had no idea what I ate and drank, so it was eye-opening to see all that.

What's your biggest challenge right now?

My current challenge is doing captain chair leg presses.

What advice do you have for someone who just joined SparkPeople today?

Go with the flow. If you make a mistake, learn from it and move forward. Find a quote that that inspires you. The one that has worked well for me is, "My greatest mistake? I've made a few…but there is one I do not intend to make again."
