By , Kaleigh McMordie, Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and Master of Nutrition
Getting ready for summer doesn't mean you have to give up delicious food for leafy greens. Eggland's Best eggs will help cut down calories, reduce saturated fat intake and add extra nutrients to your dishes. When compared to ordinary eggs, Eggland's Best have more than double the omega-3s, six times more vitamin D and 10 times more vitamin E (just to name a few benefits).

To help you get a jump start on preparing healthier dishes, we put together five recipes that will leave you happy and satisfied instead of wishing your salad could be replaced by tacos.

Baked Eggs & Avocados

Subtract the carbs and add in the healthy fats by switching your classic "egg in a hole" to "egg in an avocado." Sprinkle with some added ingredients, like chopped tomatoes or low-fat shredded cheese.

Zucchini Muffins

Dessert for breakfast? We're not sure if this logic holds up, but they're made with zucchini...so, why not?

Egg Cup Lentil Bowl

Heart-healthy and low calorie, this dish combines lentils and Eggland's Best eggs for the ultimate power couple in nutrition.

Sweet Potato and Turkey Frittata

Frittatas are our favorite breakfast-for-dinner dish. Add sweet potatoes (which have twice as much fiber as white potatoes) and a lean protein, like turkey, to make this a more filling meal for your family.

Vegetable Shakshuka

Shakshuka itself is a healthy vegetarian recipe that's so easy to make. Take it a step further and add in some vegetables for an added crunch and a nutritious punch!
